Contemporary personal stories share the New Mexico experience in a group of intimate interactive stations.

The diverse cultural tapestry of New Mexico is made manifest in these contemporary oral histories comprised of recorded voices and images. A continuously playing series of selects from themes and regions invite visitors to passively experience this human soundscape, or explore the individual points of view in more detail by selecting one of the stories in each theme or region. Within a thematic or regional category, visitors can scroll through the stories for each topic and select those that pique their curiosity.

    Press & Awards

“New Museum Showcases New Mexico’s Colorful History,” The Associated Press, Deborah Baker, May 14, 2009

Interactive displays are an important part of the museum’s mix... [including] a sophisticated, bilingual exhibit on the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the Mexican-American War and made New Mexico a U.S. territory. Highlighted portions of the treaty link to interviews with historians.
