DocsTeach is a powerful suite of educational tools designed to connect students to the resources of the National Archives. With both an online experience and an iPad app, educators have unprecedented access to primary historical documents and can get the feeling of digging into the vaults for research materials. The Web site provides a gateway to a library of primary documents, organized in an intuitive way, and made available as teaching aids. Teachers can then draw from this rich media repertoire to create customized, online activities for classroom usage. The DocsTeach experience is further extended with an iPad app, which provides quick access to educational activities. Designed specifically for a mobile platform, the application allows teachers to literally place history in student’s laps. With a completely interactive touch interface, students can pinch and zoom their way through activities, and feel even closer to our Nation’s history.
