The DocsTeach iPad app takes the wonderful resources of the National Archives and empowers educators with a nimble device for bringing history into the classroom.
DocsTeach is a collection of tools for using primary source documents from the National Archives. Now, with this iPad application, teachers can bring students ever closer to the archival materials that bring history alive. In 2010, Second Story developed a comprehensive online experience that allows educators to access archival materials for the classroom. The iPad app is an extension of the Web site, designed to facilitate quick access to teaching activities. Revealing the richness of history is now easier than ever with this mobile platform, which provides a way for educators to present students with interactive experiences directly in the classroom. Students can now tap, drag, pinch and zoom in on documents as they complete activities such as sequencing, matching, mapping, and more.
